Welcome to LoPo Designs, the official website for CG artist, Logan Porterfield.
This site is the hub for all my artistic endeavors, be they in the real world or in the virtual world of Second Life. Here you can shop for my graphic tees and abstract art, and/or the avatar apparel and accessories I design for Second Life residents.
I am often asked, "Why would you waste time making virtual clothes for imaginary people?"
I ask you, how imaginary can a virtual world really be if it allows you to view replicas of real world art, obtain degrees from accredited universities, and listen live to music performed by musicians? The meat of any existence lies in the experience, and virtual world experiences run the same gamut real world ones do, and can occasionally, prove just as powerful. Furthermore, the residents of Second Life are anything but imaginary. Granted, the people behind the avatars may not always present themselves in game as they truly are, but they are people nonetheless - and - even in virtual worlds - clothing is a must.
Second Life is a marvelous canvas for any artist, especially one whose primary medium is digital art. Recognizing this, I started LoPo Designs in the spring of 2009 with the intent to bridge the gap between worlds, using Second Life as a platform to showcase my art and designs. The fine art you see in my virtual gallery is available for purchase as prints, and many of the graphic tees in my virtual store, LoPo, are also available for purchase in my online graphic tee shop. Because Second Life is a global platform, I am able to share my work with people internationally, hence, my art is not confined to my own small corner of the world.
Should you like what you see online or in world, this site provides you with the opportunity to obtain tangible expressions of my work. Enjoy!
